The Board of Directors meets the third Tuesday of each month to discuss and conduct the business of the Friends of the Hercules Library (FOHL).  Meetings start at 6:30pm and are held in the library's conference room.  The public is welcome to attend.

As per FOHL by-laws, during the fall of each year, the FOHL nominating committee recruits, and selects nominees for the upcoming year's Board of Directors.  The committee puts together a recommended slate for  the eight elected Board positions.  This slate is then given to the existing Board for their consideration.  If approved, this slate is presented to the membership, in the December issue of the FOHL newsletter.  For the convenience of our members, a  proxy form is included in the December issue as well.

This slate is subject to vote at the annual General Membership Meeting, held the third Tuesday of January in the library's meeting room.  Additional nominees may come forward for consideration and become part of the voting at that time.  All memberships are entitled to one vote per membership (please refer to "membership benefits" section).

The new Board assumes its position at the conclusion of the vote.  Persons serving on the Board are limited to serving two consecutive terms in a specific position, but may return to that position after one years absence.   The Board is responsible for committee appointment.  Committee positions are not term limited.
